What farmers need to know about “summer and fall mycotoxin solutions”

In recent years, through a number of feed enterprises testing found that by the summer and fall season temperatures, rainfall and extreme weather, wheat, corn and soybean meal and other conventional feed ingredients mycotoxin contamination risk also increased significantly.

Through the feed route, this problem will also be reflected in the breeding production, when the animal feeding intake of a large number of raw materials contaminated by mycotoxins, will cause damage to the intestinal mucosa of the animal secondary to necrotizing enterocolitis and caused by immune suppression, inducing a variety of diseases.

Therefore, we often say: “Mycotoxins are the root of all evils in farms”, which seriously affects the economic efficiency of farms. More importantly, compared to other diseases, mycotoxins are more like “invisible killers”, and the hidden and widespread nature of mycotoxins is a headache.

However, even though mycotoxins are insidious, there are some more obvious symptoms of different types of mycotoxins that can assist us in determining them.

1、Aflatoxin

① Decrease in feed intake or refusal to eat; ② Growth stagnation, poor feed remuneration; ③ Decrease in immune function; ④ Causing intestinal and kidney hemorrhage; ⑤ Liver and gallbladder enlarged, damaged and cancerous; ⑥ Impact on the reproductive system, embryonic necrosis, fetal deformity, anemia; ⑦ Sow lactation decreased, milk due to the presence of aflatoxin, which will have an impact on the lactation of piglets.

2、Zearalenone

① Redness and swelling of the pubic area of reserve sows, false oestrus. ② Sows and reserve sows do not come into heat. ③ Conservation and fattening pig weight gain slowdown, piglet prolapse, eight legs. ④ Occasional infertility of sows. ⑤ Small litter size, small size of newborn piglets; redness and swelling of pubic area of newborn little sows. ⑥ False pregnancy, enlarged mammary glands, milk oozing out, signs of pre-partum. (7) Persistent infertility, riding on other sows, ovaries shrinking and becoming small.

3. T-2 toxin

T-2 toxin is an immunosuppressive substance with high toxicity, destroying the lymphatic system. ② Harm the reproductive system, can cause infertility, abortion or give birth to weak piglets. ③ Decrease in feed intake, vomiting, bloody diarrhea and even death. ④ Currently considered to be the most toxic toxin for poultry, it can cause oral and intestinal hemorrhage, ulcers, lower immunity, decreased egg production and weight loss.

4. Tomiting toxin

Vomit is coffee-colored, indicating severe gastric hemorrhage, is the result of blood and gastric juice hydrochloricacid; vomit with bright red blood indicates that the stomach is bleeding when vomiting; if the first vomit blood and then vomit indicates esophageal hemorrhage; vomit if green (without eating green feed) should be caused by bile reflux.

① 5ppm: 30-50% reduction in intake.

② 10ppm: feed consumption and weight gain decrease dramatically due to refusal to eat.

③ 12ppm: complete refusal to eat.

④ 20ppm: Vomiting.

In summary, mycotoxins can varying degrees of damage to animal tissues and organs, resulting in a decline in livestock and poultry production and reproduction performance, and even to the health of livestock and poultry and product quality hazards.

So, “mycotoxins” is so harmful, how should we prevent it?

In general, the correct detoxification method, need to follow two key principles: ① reduce intake; ② increase discharge.

1、Reduce intake

◆ Raw material control: control of purchasing quality - moisture, impurities, control of humidity in the preservation environment, and putting the right amount of dry lime in the feed room.

◆ Hygiene management: cleaning of processing room, cleaning of teaching trough.

◆ Toxin adsorption: add suitable mycotoxin adsorbent.

2、Increase the discharge

Enhance the function of detoxification and detoxification of animal liver and kidney, and effectively promote the elimination of mycotoxins accumulated in the body of livestock and poultry.
